Senior Boys Football

October 2024

The senior boys were back in action yesterday in the 1st round of the North of Scotland Cup, away to Kirkwall Grammar Schoolโšฝ๏ธ

The boys were a credit to the school throughout, coming away eventual 5-3 winners in a competitive game๐Ÿ‘

 SSAA Road Race

October 2024

The boys also did really well at the SSAA Road Race. Two top 30 places for Niall MacBean, S1 (27th) & Ruairidh Stirling, S5 (21st). Niall was the only S1 male to represent our school. Well done on your fantastic runs boys! You did us proud! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Congratulations to all and a big thank you to the parents who took them all down!

 

S1 Boys Football

Our S1 boys had their first competitive football game against Lossiemouth in the North Cup tonight and came out on top. Well done all! โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ†

 

SSAA Road Race Championships!

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Amazing results from the Scottish Schools Road Race @ssaaschools. Individual Silver๐Ÿฅˆ for Niamh Doorley (S1) and a Team Bronze๐Ÿฅ‰for the S1 girls - Niamh, Lexie Macrae, Amy Simpson and Maisie Dillon.

Anna Meek (S3) took 12th in the B girls with Aoibhe Doorley in 75th and there was an excellent battle between our A girls (S6), with Charlotte taking 15th and Katie 16th.

Great to see so many girls representing the school at such a high standard especially during Women and Girls in Sport Week!. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰

 

Gold Leadership Award!

October 2024

Massive congratulations to Thomas Polworth, who received his gold leadership award on Saturday after completing an incredible 500 hours volunteering.

Thomas has played a vital role at Inverness Tennis & Squash Club where he helps out on a weekly basis. Thomas has also helped with camps, sports days and taken part in some leaders training courses.

Well done Thomas. You are a fantastic role model to other young people!

The Team Sports Class with their opponents from Ignatius Park College Australia. In a very competitive game our boys won 2-0. Both goals scored by Ross Bisset and a terrific penalty save by Ryan Chalmers to keep us ahead in the game! Well done boys โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿงค

 

Introducing our Young Ambassadors for Sport 2024/25โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

 September 2024

Chai Mackenzie (S4) and Rachel Sharp (S6) have been selected to be this years Sport Ambassadors at Inverness Royal Academy. Chai and Rachel already have some great ideas on how to increase sports provision and engagement within the IRA catchment primaries.

Highlife Highland Leadership Programme

September 2024

Well done to Carly, Naomi and Nyah who received their High Life Highland Leadership Programme hoodies and t-shirt.

Big well done to Hamish Carmichael, S3, who won the Scottish Squash Under 15 Gold Event for the top junior squash players in the country. The tournament was held over Saturday and Sunday in Aberdeen with Hamish winning the final 3 games to 1 against an opponent from Stirling. Wow!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿ†

 

First of the term's leaders hoodies and t-shirts

August 2024

The first of this terms leaders hoodies and t-shirts for pupils at Inverness Royal Academy.

Massive well done to Kamilla who received her purple hoodie after completing active play leaders training and 50 hours of volunteering. Alyssa who received both her navy and her purple hoodie after completing Disability Sport - Highland awareness training and 50 hours of volunteering. Lauren who received her t-shirt after completing over 10 hours of volunteering and the hoodie is on its way๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The girls all recieved their hoodies/t shirts at the BSGI yesterday where they volunteer every Friday to lead lunchtime sports.

Bonus points for anyone who can guess which leader was not enjoying the photoshoot๐Ÿ˜‚
