What a fantastic night for Inverness Royal Academy Home Economics!

Last night, Ailsa Porteous (2W1) and Mairi Scotson (3L2) took part in the Rotary MasterChef Competition, and both girls were absolutely outstanding!

The standard of cooking was incredibly high, with competitors from Inverness High School and Culloden Academy also producing some fantastic dishes. The judge certainly had a tough decision to make!

But there can only be one winner, and we are delighted to announce that AILSA PORTEOUS was crowned the overall winner!  Ailsa will now progress to the next round of the competition.

We are so incredibly proud of both girls. They are a real credit to our school, demonstrating hard work, determination and confidence under pressure. It is no easy task preparing and serving two dishes in a competition environment where anything can go wrong, but both girls remained calm, looked relaxed and delivered their dishes on time.

A fantastic achievement for two very talented young people!

And we're absolutely delighted to have the trophy back!

A big thank you to Williamson Food Service for generously sponsoring the competition and to the Rotary Club for organising such a fantastic, well-run event and providing our young people with such a brilliant opportunity!

A HUGE WELL DONE, AILSA AND MAIRI! You have made us very proud! 💙💛
