πβοΈAmazing results from the Scottish Schools Road Race @ssaaschools. Individual Silverπ₯ for Niamh Doorley (S1) and a Team Bronzeπ₯for the S1 girls - Niamh, Lexie Macrae, Amy Simpson and Maisie Dillon.
Anna Meek (S3) took 12th in the B girls with Aoibhe Doorley in 75th and there was an excellent battle between our A girls (S6), with Charlotte taking 15th and Katie 16th.
Great to see so many girls representing the school at such a high standard especially during Women and Girls in Sport Week!
The boys also raced well with top 30 places for Ruairidh Stirling (S5) 21st and Niall Macrae (S1) 27th
Congratulations to all and a big thank you to the parents who took them all down! ππͺπ₯π₯

Ross Barnett: The Missing Lynx: Extinction in Britain
Award-winning scientist and author Ross has been involved with the field of ancient DNA research for over 20 years, looking at the relationships between extinct and extant. Throughout his career he has been fascinated by the animals that once lived side-by-side with humans, prompting him to write The Missing Lynx, looking at some of the many species that have been lost from Britain and Europe since the end of the ice age. Many have heard the stories of beavers, wolves and bears, but what about lions, hyaenas and mammoths?
Tickets purchased online or at the door (£15 / free for under18s and RSGS members) cash and card payments accepted.

Yesterday was round one of the Master Chef competition. All four of our competitors did extremely well. There was two spaces available so Charlie won the round and Caspian came second which means both girls are going forward to the next round of the competition which will take place at Charleston Academy on the 8th of October starting at 1pm. Here are their fantastic dishes! Well done all of you.
Thank you to Steven Devlin from Rocpool for judging!
