Halle Cran (S2) and her team mates, Inverness Lions U14 girls, won the U14 SBC Playoff Championship today at the Caledonia Gladiators Arena in East Kilbride.
It’s been a very successful season for the girls with them claiming the The Scottish Basketball Championship Division One Title last weekend.
Good luck with the SPAR cup!

S2 into S3 Options Information Evening
The S2 into S3 Parent/Guardians’ Options’ information evening will take place on Wednesday 19th March at 6pm to 7pm in the school Theatre.
The purpose of the evening will be to take you through the steps expected of pupils to make their option choices and importantly share the resources and information available, so that you can support your child to make informed choices. The evening will go through:
• The subject choices available
• Advice on combinations of subjects
• Introduce the My World of Work website
• Go through the Options Timeline
• Opportunity for Questions

Mr Piper and School Captains, Charlotte Rose McNeish and Ellie Gorin went to join in with celebrations across fifty-four countries as they come together to observe this year’s Commonwealth Day at the flag-raising ceremony in Inverness Town House this morning.

Aban Adventure Learning Community are offering spaces to pupils who may not normally get the chance to participate due to financial barriers or other pressures. For any pupils interested, please scan the QR code or get in touch with Chris McCormick in the school for more information. For pupils to qualify they will have to evidence barriers they face but this will be treated in confidence
Scottish Schools Cross-Country Championships
Huge well done to all of our pupils who took part in the Scottish Cross Country Championships at Hopetoun House Estate in South Queensferry on Wednesday - you were all a credit to Inverness Royal Academy!
Some excellent results - D Girls and B Boys teams both getting 4th place, B Girls 6th and super individual results from Charlotte Burton (4th), Anna Meek (7th), Katie Meek (8th) and Niamh Doorley (11th).

Tom Bowser: A Sky Full of Kites
On Monday 10th March we'll be joined by writer and wildlife guide Tom Bowser. He’ll be sharing stories of his rewilding journey at his family’s farm near Dunblane and the red kites that have found a home there.
He'll explore the past, present and future of kites in Scotland, share stories from the Argaty Red Kite project, and ask whether these beautiful birds represent the UK’s greatest rewilding success.

Huge congratulations to our Book Quizzers Freya Barraclough, Ava Rose Williams, Saoirse Farrell & Kodi Wong who yesterday came 2nd place in a regional quiz against 24 other teams! Amazing effort from you all 👏👏👏
Local rider and professional mountain bike racer Greg Williamson was in school on Monday to deliver a bike park session to ten lucky pupils as part of The Bothy group sessions. The pupils were all buzzing to be out with Greg and had an amazing time listening to his advice and watching him in action! Our thanks to Greg for his time and support for the pupils, we hope to see him back in school again soon and wish him all the best for the season ahead!
