  • Notice for senior pupils sitting SQA exams

    SQA Exam Timetables

    Tomorrow in registration you will receive your SQA exam timetable. Please check the following:

    · Your name is correct and how you want it to appear on your certificate

    · Your address is correct as this is the address your certificate will be sent to

    · The exams you are entered for and the level you are entered at is correct.

    If there are any inaccuracies, please could you write on the form and hand it to your registration teacher. For those where all is correct, you can hang on to it.

    College Courses/ Eden Court

    Please note, this timetable only includes exams which you are entered for by the school. If you do courses through the college, they will not appear on this timetable. For these exams you should look at the SQA timetable which I have attached. I will create seating lists for those pupils who are doing college courses but sitting the exams in school.

    Assessment arrangements

    For pupils who have assessment arrangements, you will have an extra timetable that will be emailed to you after the holidays. This will have the detail of any additional arrangements, including extra time that you may have.

    Seating/ rooming

    Please note that the rooming and seating may be subject to change, and you should always check the seating lists that will be posted on Google Classroom and displayed outside the theatre.

    Exam briefing

    There will be an exam briefing in the first week back after the holidays during assembly. A full attendance is required.

    Good luck with your revision! If you have any questions or concerns, come and see me or your guidance teacher.

  • Family Games Night

    The IRA Shieling Fundraising Group are really excited about their upcoming Family Games Night. This will be held on Friday 19 April from 5.30-7.00pm in the Theatre. A letter with more information will be sent out this week. In the meantime, here is a message from the group: 

     

    Hi everyone! Just a quick message about the Family Games Night. Thank you to the people who were kind enough to give us some things for the raffle. We are deeply grateful! And we appreciate Harry Gow bakery for the kind offer of a £20 voucher!  

     

    Please continue to send in any small donations to the school office that you are able to (packets of biscuits, family games, chocolates - anything at all that we can use as a prize!), we really appreciate the support!

  • Highland Young Musician 2024

    Congratulations to two of our talented students, Beth and Elsie who took part in the prestigious Highland Young Musician competition 2024! There was the highest of musical standards across all programs from some of the most amazing young people.

    Beth secured the runner-up position, an outstanding accomplishment for her hard work. Both Beth and Elsie's dedication, passion, and talent have truly paid off.

  • P7 TRANSITION EVENT – UNIFORM

    P7 TRANSITION EVENT – UNIFORM

    Some members of the school’s ‘Clothing and Food Bank Working Group’ will be available with a table/rail with LOTS of FREE uniform at the P7 transition event this evening. There are some brand new items, some pre-loved, and in the name of sustainability and smart-looking pupils, we would love for parents to help themselves to what they need.

    If you cannot attend the event but you would benefit from support with uniform provision, we encourage you to contact the school. Any contact would be handled discretely and we will do our best to help you out.

    We also understand that children grow over the summer! So if in doubt, size up!

    Date: Thursday April 4th

    Time: 11:00 – 15:00

    Meet: Dores Inn car park

    Anybody is welcome to come along and join in.

    People just need to wear stout footwear and have good gloves. Bin bags & litter picker will be provided.

  • S3 Prefects

    S3 Prefects

    We are looking for S3 pupils to apply for the role of S3 prefect to support the school while our senior pupils are on exam leave.  

    Prefects are role models who lead by example, and they are expected to set high standards for themselves and others. By becoming a  prefect, you will have the opportunity to show that you are responsible, reliable and capable of taking on leadership roles.  Application forms can be found on the S3 Google Classroom and should be submitted by Wednesday the 27th of March.

    A group of our pupils had an fantastic day filled with exciting activities with some Cairngorm Park Rangers. This experience offered them a glimpse into the remarkable work carried out by the Rangers in preserving and caring for the national park. 🌲🌿

    We would like to extend our thanks to the Rangers at Cairngorm National Park for welcoming our students so warmly. Their dedication and passion for the environment has no doubt left a lasting impression on pupils 👏
