  • Loch Eil Trip

    Published 19/03/24

On Friday, S1 & S2 pupils returned from their Loch Eil Outward Bound trip, and it was a week filled with unforgettable adventures and incredible achievements! 🌟

πŸ“ΈπŸ‘‰ We have captured some stunning moments from the trip, and all the photos will soon be available for parents via the dedicated Google Classroom.

Our expectations for this trip were sky-high, and we are happy to say that our pupils surpassed them. They truly proved themselves to be a credit to our school, embodying our core values of respect, compassion, responsibility, honesty, and commitment throughout the entire week! πŸ‘

We would like to extend a huge thank you to our Outward Bound instructors for creating such amazing opportunities for our pupils.

Let's take a moment to highlight some of the unforgettable moments from their adventure-filled week:

β˜‘οΈ Daring Jog & Dip: Despite the chilly weather, students fearlessly plunged into the freezing waters of Loch Eil for an invigorating jog and dip! Brrr! ❄️

β˜‘οΈ Expedition: Our resilient pupils had the opportunity to camp out in tents and bothies, enduring some wild March weather πŸ•οΈβ›ˆοΈ

As we reflect on this amazing experience, it's evident that our pupils have discovered a newfound resilience, confidence, and the power of collaboration. We are incredibly proud and excited to witness them applying these attributes to their school life, homes, and future endeavours! 🌟

Remember to keep an eye out for the fantastic photos coming your way soon #ProudSchool #OutwardBound #Adventure #OutwardBoundLochEil #UnforgettableMemories πŸ“·βœ¨

  • Family Games Night

    Published 19/03/24

We are a group of S1 and S2 students and at the moment we are planning a Family Games Night that will be held at the school in April. We are trying to collect prizes for a raffle and for the games. This will be a fundraising activity for a school trip to Kartway and we have chosen to donate 10% of what we raise to Highland Hospice. Any extra funds raised will go towards a holiday club for students who need a bit of support during the school summer holidays.

Please could you send in any small donations that could be used as prizes! We are hoping to create a hamper of goodies to be won. If you are able to send in any of the following to the school office we would be very grateful:

    Packets of Biscuits

    Chocolates

    Specialty teas and coffees

    Crackers/bread sticks

    Family Games

Or anything else you think would make a good prize!

Thank you so much for your help with this!

  • S3 Practical Cookery visit from The Royal Navy

    Published 12/03/24

DYW and Inverness Royal Academy welcomed the Royal Navy this week to work with a group of keen S3 pupils on their practical cookery. The pupils learnt about the different things the Royal Navy are involved with from Defence, Humanitarian missions and International Sport before going on to make Chicken Kievs under the watchful eye of two Navy chefs. With 20 pupils involved and real buzz in the air (as well as some good smells!) we hope this has inspired some pupils to think careers as chefs or in the Navy.

Check out the cooking in our photo gallery!

  • Wear a Hat Day

    Published 08/03/24

    ** Change of Date**

Wear a Hat Day will now be on Friday 22nd March.

What is Wear A Hat Day?

Wear A Hat Day is Brain Tumour Research’s annual event raising money to bring hope to brain tumour patients and their families. Every March, as Brain Tumour Awareness Month comes to a close, people from all walks of life put on their favourite hat at work, in school, with friends and family, and hold hat-themed events and make donations to help find a cure for brain tumours, which kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.

    Donations welcome!
