S2 pupils will be taking part in MidYIS assessment on Monday 9th December. MidYIS is very similar to SNSA assessments, in that it is a diagnostic tool to help us identify the progress pupils are making and allows us to plan learning and teaching more effectively. Pupils do not need to revise or prepare and there is no pass or fail. More information here

Well done to our pupils Mia Williamson, Isla Donald, Gabi Beres, and Charlotte Rose McNeish for representing the school brilliantly at the annual Young Speakers Scotland St Andrew’s Day Debate in Edinburgh yesterday. Charlotte and Gabi debated really challenging motions, from whether mobile phones should be banned in schools to how the UK government should respond to Donald Trump. Congratulations to Isla Donald for being awarded the prize for best pupil judge, and for judging the evening final hosted by the Faculty of Advocates. Pupils interested in debating should speak to Mr Clarkson in RMPS.
