    Published 15/02/24

Today, our school held the first of three training sessions for our own Mental Health Mentors! 🌈🀝

✨ We're thrilled to announce that a group of talented and compassionate S4 and S5 students have successfully applied to be a part of this incredibly important programme. They will be honing their mentoring skills and then matched with incoming S1 students in the new school year.

🌟 Not only that, but these dedicated students will also have the opportunity to run Mental Health Workshops and be actively involved in promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing across our school.

πŸ’ͺ As they complete the Level 4 Mentorship Award, we have no doubt that these students will develop valuable lifelong skills and qualities that will support them in their personal and professional lives beyond school.

Big thanks to our fantastic Pupil Council Health and Wellbeing group for their immense support throughout this journey. We truly appreciate their insights and dedication. πŸ™Œ

Let's give our Mental Health Mentors a well-deserved round of applause! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  • Family Learning @ Inverness Royal Academy - Katherine MacInnes

    Published 07/02/24

Family Learning @ Inverness Royal Academy  - Katherine MacInnes

    Snow Widows
    Monday 12th February @ 7.30pm

Through newly-found archive material and photographs, Katherine MacInnes reconstructs the lives of five women – wives, mothers and sisters of the men participating in Robert Falcon Scott’s polar expedition – offering a fresh and utterly different perspective on the race to the South Pole. In a gripping and remarkable feat of historical reconstruction, she vividly depicts the lives, loves and losses of the ‘snow widows’, describing the women’s attitudes to the expedition, their place in society, and the agony of distance, where it could take a year to receive news from the expedition, “a world of dangers that [they] cannot share.”

Tickets purchased at the door (£10 / free for under18s) cash only.

    • 302 Service Foyers – They are able to send a 22 seater to take pupils to Foyers. This will travel via Whitebridge. This bus should be for pupils that live in Foyers only. No pupils from Ness Castle or Dores should travel on this bus. Ness castle pupils should walk home or arrange a lift. • Road Conditions – Foyers, Whitebridge, Dores

    Published 05/02/24

Road Conditions – Foyers, Whitebridge, Dores

We have been in touch with Highland Council Buses regarding the current road conditions.  Currently the roads to Whitebridge and Foyers are closed due to landslip and/or flooding, and the road to Dores is badly impacted by flooding.  The bus operators are hopeful that they can transport pupils from school to Dores by using minibuses.  However, they are not hopeful that the road conditions will improve for taking pupils to Whitebridge or Foyers.  At this stage we have been asked to inform families to begin making provisions for families to contact their Inverness city contact.  Families that travel in from outside Inverness city would have nominated a contact of this kind on enrolment.  We would ask parents to make alternative arrangements to either pick up their child (if safe to do so) or make arrangements for their child to be picked up, and to stay with relatives or emergency contacts in Inverness.  Staff will remain in school with pupils until confirmation of these arrangement are received.
