Quotes from last year’s trip-
“I really loved the Iceland trip last year. It was such an amazing experience being able to explore the incredible landscape while also having opportunity to make and strengthen friendships”
“Iceland was one of the best experiences of my life! From the sights, the interactions, the activities, the new friends I made – it was unforgettable”
“I returned and felt so confident about my favourite subject – I completely understood waterfall formations and glaciation. I had so much fun learning at the same time”
“My magical experience in Iceland had memorable moments such as going to the Lagoon and making your skin glow, the geyser which took me by surprise, and visiting Reykjavík and spending free time with my friends. The scenery of Iceland is breathtaking and I would love to return one day to explore more of this beautiful country!”

What a way to kick off Pride Month! We are thrilled to announce that our school has been recognised in the Proud Scotland 2024 Awards where we won the Education category. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all our students and families, including our LGBTQ+ community. ![]()
As a Rights Respecting school, we strive to ensure that every individual feels valued, respected, and secure. We believe that everyone should be able to be their authentic selves without fear or judgement.
In the words of Sterling Graves, "Pride is important because someone tonight still believes they're better off dead than being themselves." Let's continue to spread love, acceptance, and challenge hate and unkindness. Together, we can make a difference. Congratulations to all our staff, pupils, and families for this incredible achievement!

Great week at Alladale Wilderness Reserve.
To our pupils, a massive WELL DONE ![]()

to you all, this is wild camping like no other and the most remote location for a weeks school residential in Scotland! On Thursday night everyone slept in their own hammock and the weather all week was totally tropical
with only a few million midges ![]()

Well done to those pupils who returned home on Saturday morning from completing their Silver DofE practice expedition! A huge thank you to our wonderful staff and volunteers who accompanied them on their journey through the Cairngorms.
And relax! Yesterday saw SQA exams come to a close. A huge well done to all pupils who sat exams and a huge thank you to our invigilation team who ensured a smooth running of the diet.

The Clothing Bank and Breakfast Club were absolutely delighted to receive a cheque for £1000 from Liz Sutherland at Tesco this morning.
Liz is the Community Champion for Tesco and very kindly included us in this year's Stronger Starts (blue token scheme).
Thank you to the community/ Tesco customers for choosing to give us your blue token nominations and, of course, thank you to Liz and Tesco.
Thank you SO MUCH for your response to my recent letter about school uniform! Yesterday was the start of the new timetable and it was clear to see that a significant number of conversations about uniform had taken place in families. This has resulted in many more of our pupils attending school in uniform. I really appreciate your support on this matter.
I know a number of you have reasonable questions about the consequences for those not routinely wearing uniform. The consequences- you might not be surprised to learn- will take account of a pupil’s individual circumstances. For those affected by poverty, we’ll help them access clothing grants and our school uniform bank. For those affected by sensory issues, we’ll seek some compromises around clothing items. For those who don’t really have any excuse then it might be a meeting with parents/carers or it might be ‘catch up time’ (otherwise known as detention in the past).
The senior management team will be carrying out spot checks this term and regularly when we return in August. In the meantime, thank you again for your support.
Culduthel Community Woods are excited to have their squirrel expert talk on her work with the 'reds in the Highlands. Meet at 7.30pm at Culduthel Christian Centre. Come along and support your local wood at the AGM which follows.
