Special Diet Requests for New Academic Year
Message from the Highland Council - Special Diet Requests for New Academic Year for parents of new nursery, P1 and S1 pupils who require adaptations to school lunches due to
• Allergies or intolerances
• Medical conditions such as diabetes, Coeliac disease, Cystic Fibrosis etc
• Neurodiverse requirements or additional support needs (e.g. ARFID, autistic spectrum)
• Ethical or religious reasons (Vegan, Halal etc)
Please can we get your request for a special diet as soon as possible using the online portal link with generic instructions below. We can process these over the school holidays. If you leave this until the start of the school year, this will lead to considerable delays in processing your request.
Online Portal - click on the ‘request a special diet for a pupil’ box, parents/carers can progress without an account. If you do not have your child’s SCN number you can proceed without it. Complete and submit the form to come to the special diet team to be approved. The information is then communicated to the catering, EY and education staff where appropriate as well as the relevant special diet menu sent to parents if needed.
Pupils who have an existing special diet request in place do not need to submit a new form unless there are changes to their existing requirements.
