Gaelic Taster Day

On Thursday 4th December, staff and pupils from the Gaelic department ran a taster day for others across the school offering a mini sessions on Gaelic language, culture, job opportunities and Gaelic in our school. S6 GME + GLE pupils showed excellent leadership skills by planning and running many of the fun activities available. Pupils from other year groups in the Gaelic department also helped out, sharing their learning and passion for the language and culture with those who normally wouldn’t get a chance to engage with Gaelic. A huge thanks also go to Gillian DWY who organised one of our ‘stations’ and brought in visitors from Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Dundreggan Rewiliding Centre and Visit Inverness. The key message shared was that Gaelic belongs to everyone and even a little understanding of the language and culture can help open many doors personally and in the world of work.
